I always worry whether Little A is too hot in the summer and it is this time of year that I generally change him from his 2.5 tog winter sleep bags to a summer one.
A friend of mine is a huge fan of Aden & Anais’s sleeping bags. Once I had seen one I was also hooked as they are perfect for hot summer nights and especially for the couple of holidays we have planned. Made from 100% cotton muslin you can get single layer bags perfect for hot holidays or 4 layer muslin ‘cosy’ bags for cooler nights. The muslin’s open weave helps to prevent overheating and they come in really lovely slightly retro designs. Even more helpful is their chart (below) which gives you a good idea of how many layers are needed for what temperature.
Little A’s granny also bought him this organic cotton Elephant sleeping bag to keep at her house. Lovely, soft and only 1 tog.
For travelling I always use sleep bags by The Gro Company. Designed to accommodate a five point harness these sleeping bags were ideal when we flew long-haul at Christmas. Available in a variety of togs, they are perfect for those late-night car trips as Little A always knows it is time for bed the moment he gets in his.
