Last year when the autumn was drawing in we decided to leave the city for a ‘staycation’ in the countryside. One thing that I was dreading was the prospect of packing up the entire house and nursery for just four nights away. Help was at hand however when I discovered a little gem of a website Baby Friendly Boltholes. Covering the UK and abroad, BFB offers a spectrum of holiday ideas be it a cottage in the Cotswolds or a villa in France. Aimed at the more luxury end of the market you can be assured of both style and comfort wherever you book. We headed to the super cute Windfall Cottage in the Cotswolds which came complete with an aga, a ball pool for Little A, a roaring log fire for the evenings and even ducks and chickens at the end of the garden. The cottage has 3 ensuite double bedrooms and comes ready prepped with highchair, cot, stair gates, toys and even a dressing up box. We arranged a Tesco food delivery for our arrival and even if you forget a nice bottle of wine, one can be found in the ‘indulgence cupboard’ in the garage alongside chocs/fluffy robes and anything else you might have forgotten and want to purchase. Days were spent visiting Daylesford Organic and the chocolate box villages of Broadway and Chipping Camden intertwined with a few walks with Little A taking in the heady heights from his Little Life rucksack on Daddy’s shoulders. Sadly the Cotswold Farm Park which I had heard rave reviews about had just closed for the winter so definitely check that out if heading there this summer.
