Driving home for Christmas – car tunes for kids

Up first is the absolute classic that is the personalised CD.  Ours is by stalwart company Silver Balloon and does not disappoint.  With your child’s name sung 50 times it will appeal to even the most egotistical of toddlers.  You won’t find traditional nursery rhymes but instead seven upbeat new tracks which crucially are relatively adult friendly  (Little A loves Jungle Rumble on Album 1).  There is even a story narrated by Jon Snow which tops the bill.  With speedy delivery, a  Silver Balloon Cd makes the perfect pressie to pop in the post to any child from birth to around age 7.

If your little one happens to be dinosaur mad then have a look at this relic from my youth – Don Coopers’ Dino-Songs.  This American album is full of catchy tunes and believe me even you will know how to spell Pteranodon after one listen.
Available at iTUNES priced £7.90

For something more traditional but with a jazz twist try Parade by the Dixie Ticklers. This funky jazz band, who played at a friend’s wedding, have created a cd of 15 classic children’s songs with their own New Orleans style makeover.
Available at iTUNES priced £7.99

Another CD which has bizarrely kept Little A entertained ever since he was a baby is Port Isaac’s Fishermen’s friends.  This album of hearty sea shanties has an almost soporific quality for Little A and it also means you can have an hour nursery-rhyme free.
Available on Amazon for £8.99
