Spring Cleaning! Storage bags to get clutter free

storage bags
With babe No.2 on the way I am on a mission to spring clean the house and store away all of Little A’s old clothes.  I have blogged about these bags before but they really are the best.  Huge and foldable when not in use, they are perfect to pack away old clothes, toys and all the baby paraphernalia you easily accumulate.  Loving the map design but check out the cheeky Fox one too.

Scandi Style

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take a trip to the big blue store.  The store of headaches, stress, compulsive shopping and bargains galore.  One word of advice try and leave the toddler at home.

Here is what made it home…

1. PYSSLINGAR, Bed storage box, light blue ,£7
I bought two of these and they fit perfectly under Little A’s cot bed.  Perfect for storing old clothes, spare nappies and general baby kit.

2. EXPEDIT, Shelving unit, white, £20
Super cheap, this has really tidied up the nursery.  I bought two seagrass Knipsa baskets to go in the bottom for toys leaving the top section for books.

3. KRITTER, Children’s table, white, £14
This goes perfectly with Little A’s personalised Georgie SK chair.

4. BARNSLIG Baby towel with hood, green, £7
Perfect toddler size

Who’s been sitting in my chair?

Little A received one of these beautiful chairs last Christmas and takes huge pride when he sits on his very own inscribed chair.  Made by mumpreneur Georgie, who began painting chairs for her Godchildren’s first birthdays and Christenings before turning her hobby into a fledgling business, her designs offer huge variety at a very reasonable price. You get to choose the colour, motif and style from her galleries or commission an entirely bespoke piece.

Georgie is offering one lucky Princess and the Pram reader the chance to win one of her bespoke chairs. Simply answer the question below and email the answer to Princess on the “Contact Me” button above.

What did Little Miss Muffet sit on when a spider appeared and frightened her?

Mirror Mirror On the Wall…

Also check out Georgie’s stunning mirrors with their distressed painted frames.  Choose from rope or ribbon, and personalise the rest.   A steal at £55 excluding postage.

Christening Ideas – Anna Wright art

Aside from religious gifts, Christening presents can be difficult to find especially if you are looking for a gift which can grow with the child and becomes something they can enjoy and appreciate as an adult too. Having recently been made a Godmother for the first time I looked to Edinburgh based artist Anna Wright for something for my beautiful Goddaughter Ella. Anna’s charming mixed media collages in pen, ink and watercolour are unique and full of character. I bought this one entitled Spring Fling which I had mounted in a shabby chic white antiqued frame.

Anna sells originals, prints and greeting cards. For her website please click here.

Top Tip: Always remember to think about framing and mount costs when you are buying art as a gift

Wonderful Walls – exclusive children’s wallpaper

Not everyone wants a nursery decked out in Iggle Piggle print or Peppa Pig pattern and as I am considering papering the chimney breast in Little A’s bedroom I am thrilled to have discovered Katie Bourne wallpaper.

Katie uses a lovely heritage colour palette to create her charming children’s wallpaper. Influenced by traditional children’s storybooks, her illustrations are whimsical yet contemporary and most importantly fun for children to appreciate. Aimed at parents who prefer the nursery to be an extension of their home’s design concept, Katie has debuted two collections to consider.  ’Cluck a doodle farm’ brings all the farmyard favourites into the nursery whilst ‘Merry Go Circus’ is more a walk on the wild side.

Are you sitting comfortably…

Little A has a rather worrying habit of watching his evening showing of  In the Night Garden as if he is trying to jump in the screen to join Igglepiggle and co.  I am positive that standing so close to the screen will speed up his square eyes in a jiffy and so I have spied these super comfy beanbag chairs from JoJo Maman Bebe.  There are plenty of bean bag chairs to be found but these ones have a great fabric selection and even a beige stripe which will fit in with my living room without being too garish.  I am hoping that by getting Little A his own throne it might encourage him to kick back and relax…at a sensible distance from the telly!
