Fashion Forward – new discovery Anna & Louis

Perusing the fabulous Daisy Trust Fair the other week I stumbled across kids fashion label Anna & Louis.  Bringing simple but chic Spanish style to London, Anna & Louis has some really gorgeous pieces – lots of collared dresses, chunky knits and a fine boys selection too.  I snapped up this tartan dress in the sale for Little B’s festive frolics this Christmas.

Adorable outfits for babies too. Take a look.

All in 1 – Outdoor Overalls for kids

Beatrix Potter, Kendal Mint Cake, and some pretty fine scenery are not the only good things Cumbria has got going on.  Welcome Lakes and Lambs.  The brainchild of a busy mum who couldn’t find well designed, all purpose overalls for her young children so she decided to design her own.

If you are bored of the endless clothing changes required when your Little Ones retreat from playing outdoors covered in dirt and dust then these are for you.  The lightweight fabric is soft and breathable yet durable, and comes with a water and stain repellant invisible coating.  Pop over shorts and t-shirts for the summer days ahead or bulk up with a jumper underneath when winter prevails.

I love the nostalgic, childhood prints – I bought ‘flower meadow’ for my Goddaughter’s first birthday and boys will adore the ‘Busy Bugs’ or ‘Little Farm’ versions.  Lakes and Lambs currently have a sale on so snap up yours now and save on your washing all summer.

Children’s printed boilersuits all by Lakes and Lambs

New Label Alert – Bumble & Ava

A new label has hatched this spring! Bumble & Ava, a clothing label for babies, toddlers and children is the brainchild of mother and daughter duo, Alexandra and Natasha.

Their first collection ‘The Malindi’ is full of fresh and vibrant prints.  The boys’ nehru shirts have fantastic contrast cuff detailing and I love their signature long-sleeved Ava dress which is 100% cotton and has a lovely floaty aesthetic.  For babes-in-arms, the blue rollo romper would suit both boys and girls and features a lovely elephant print.  For crawlers the pantaloons are perfect for everyday wear.

Bumble & Ava is designed in England and made in Kenya at a factory that is a member of the World Fairtrade Organisation.  It certainly feels good to know that the people making the clothes your children wear, have access to a self-help group whose purpose is to provide members with access to financial funds, to assist with children’s education, housing and pension preparations.
A fresh new collection, perfect for the summer days coming ahead.

S/S 17 Lust List – Katie & Jo

I realise that I am getting to the stage in life when my girlfriends are becoming uber successful. One has her novel published this summer (more on that to come), another is she-bossing it in the city, one friend spends her days delivering babies and lots have set up creative and innovative businesses from their kitchen tables.

A couple of such schoolfriends have not only created a successful boutique in the heart of Parsons Green, but are currently launching their first eponymous collection and it is right up PATP’s street.

Katie & Jo have channelled years of noting exactly what their clientele look for and created a capsule 5 piece collection full of bohemian vibes and pops of neon.

I love the Florence dress (above) – perfect for the summer days to come and my hero piece of the collection is their navy military jacket which has a stunning embroidered back.

Out after Easter weekend – happy shopping!

Spring Bloom(ers) – Liberty print bottoms

Yes yes I am aware I maybe should have called this blog Princess and the Liberty Print as it seems the majority of my posts seem to focus on my penchant for the classic, delicately detailed, floral British fabric. I couldn’t resist flagging up my latest discovery Tinker & Belle – purveyors of gorgeous classic childrenswear made to order with Liberty Art Fabrics.  Created by a mum, who was struggling to find little girls’ clothes she liked that were simple in shape and devoid of cartoon characters, and looking to achieve that perfect balance of a career and motherhood, set up her sewing machine and Tinker & Belle was born.

I love the longer length baby bloomers – perfect to take you through the crawling stage and lightweight enough for summer days. Boys need not be left out and her printed shirts would be perfect for summer weddings and Christenings. Take a look.

READER OFFER – Octavia Hix

Rather than do Gift guides this year I am just going to do the odd post here and there on pretty things that have caught my eye. (I also have the problem that if I say what I have bought it slightly ruins the surprise factor for my family and friends on Christmas Day!). That said and because my mum is a somewhat sporadic reader of PATP, I will let you in on what I am wrapping up for her under the tree.

For a lady who likes her Winter Sun I have snapped up one of these gorgeous easy breezy dresses by Octavia Hix.  Perfect to throw on post pool for lunch, they come in two different lengths and most importantly for my mum they come out of your suitcase looking like they did when they went in.  I bought a couple for half term and not only did I find them super flattering but a totally indispensable addition to my holiday wardrobe. Wear with a heels and a leather jacket at night, sandals and straw hat for the day.

For Princess and the Pram readers you lucky things are entitled to 15% off.  Simply use the code below and happy shopping.  Always a good one to direct the hubby to incase they are struggling to get you something for Christmas.

Magic Slippers – Desmond and Dempsey

After a particularly rain-soaked weekend, nothing makes me more pleased than getting rid of the wellies by the door and sinking my feet into my heavenly new slippers. Burgundy ponyskin – check, candyfloss pink faux fur interior – check, sturdy soles in case you nip out – check.  Bags of style on the outside and super comfy on the inside, these slippers scream weekend chic.  Perfect if you are currently post baby and slobbing out in a variety of moth eaten cashmere and need to up level your ‘nan’ slippers.  I wear mine non stop and they disguise themselves beautifully as loafers when teamed with a black skinny jean.

Also available in smoke grey ponyskin with zebra trim for those that keep things monochrome.  Definitely check out Desmond and Dempsey’s PJs if you are looking to overhaul your bedtime wardrobe.  Their slippers and nightwear also make pretty perfect Christmas pressies for the sister who has everything.

Pepa’s Picks – Autumn Winter 16

The leaves have turned, the heating is now on and I must admit I am just a little overexcited by the prospect of winter dressing. It’s only one more year before school uniform prevails for Little B and wardrobe fun becomes limited to weekends only.   Go to brand for A/W togs is local SW6 brand Pepa & Co.  Princess Charlotte looked impeccably cute in her pieces for the Canada trip and her brother most dapper.  What I love about Pepa & Co is that there are great things for both boys and girls.  I snapped up two pairs of bloomers for Little B (the dusty pink with frill trim and the grey herringbone) and I have my eye on the blue double collar sweater for Little A.   For any newborns out there check out the Bear motif knitted romper.

Sun Seekers – Kids swimwear for winter heat

Yes the leaves may be crunching underfoot and whilst it’s nearly time to switch on the heating my mind is already travelling to far flung destinations for some winter sun. Luckily for us this half term will see us swapping the crisp London days for some African heat and the first thing to be packed will be Little B’s new cossie.  Having been a longtime fan of Heidi Klein for my bathers I am delighted to discover they do an incred kids’ range.  Hand on heart Little B’s new Phoebe one-piece is the most beautiful costume I have ever seen.

Phoebe Costume

The delectable strawberry print is teamed with a sweet red gingham and frill detailing adorns the shoulders.  If you have boys then definitely check out the gorgeous range of fun rash vest and trunk co-ords.

Mix and Match

For mummies I swear by Heidi’s one-pieces- I have been donning the Nantucket this summer.  Generous support and flattering silhouettes ensure you feel confident poolside and although they are investment pieces they certainly perform better than their high-street counterparts.

I was keen to ask the Queen of chic resortwear a few questions…

Princess asked Heidi…

What are your 3 favourite things in life?

–          My beautiful family

–          My career

–          My gorgeous dog Otto

London’s best kept secret for kids?

–          Kite flying on Parliament Hill, tons of fun for the family.

Best holiday memory?

–          In Lake Joseph (Ontario, Canada) this summer.  We spent 3 weeks there.   My little boys faces when the caught their first fish!
